Passover

April 21, 2027

Tomorrow is the beginning of the Jewish holiday Passover. Passover lasts 8 days starting with celebratory meals called Seders (Say- dares), when families and friends gather and tell the story of the Jewish people leaving their enslaved lives in Egypt. Passover is observed by eating many symbolic foods, and by not eating any leavened grains, to connect with their ancestors who had to leave Egypt quickly and didn’t have time to let their breads rise. You may say “Chag Pesach sameach” (KHAG PAY-sack sah-MEY-akh) or “Happy Passover” to your classmates and/or neighbors that observe.  begins at sundown on Wednesday, April 21, and concludes at nightfall on Thursday, April 29
