Ramadan
February 8, 2027
Today is the first day of Ramadan (raa·muh·daan), when many of our Muslim community members will observe 30 days of fasting; meaning no food or drinks; from sunrise to sunset. Similar to many other faiths, Muslims fast during Ramadan to reinforce one’s faith, be mindful of God’s blessings, it is a means of seeking forgiveness of sins and a reminder of those who do not have enough food, water and shelter. You may say “Happy Ramadan” to your classmates and/or neighbors that observe. February 8, 2027
