The Interfaith Religious Leaders and Youth LEAD are partnering together to increase understanding and decrease misconceptions among the many religious groups in Sharon.  The initiative has two components:

  1. A community-wide gathering featuring a guest speaker whose focus will be the importance of religious literacy today.
  2. A series of follow-up workshops for lay religious educators to learn about other faith traditions and their religious education programs.
By  strengthening  relationships among religious educators in town, a goal of this project is to foster continued sharing and learning beyond the initial workshops.

In August 2011 three SPN partner collaboration projects were selected and funded. Partners met and discussed ways to work together to forward SPN’s mission and goals and to address the needs of their constituents by expanding their contacts with a diverse community. Deepening Interfaith Religious Literacy Among Faith Traditions is one of the programs.
