Ramadan is the holy month of fasting and spiritual renewal for Muslims worldwide. During Ramadan\, Muslims abstain from food and drink from dawn to sunset and focus on prayers and achievement of spiritual excellence. Iftar means “breaking the fast” and it is an integral part of a Muslim community’s life during Ramadan. Please refer to the guidelines below before you schedule the appointment. For donor questions\, please call 1-800-RED CROSS (1-800-733-2767) or visit RedCrossBlood.org. \nAbout “Muslims for Life®” Campaign \nTo honor the victims of 9/11 and emphasize Islam’s essential teaching regarding the sanctity of life\, the Ahmadiyya Muslims Community\, USA began organizing blood drives all across the nation in 2011. The “Muslims for Life” Campaign has now become a nationwide annual event. \nAfter the Boston Marathon tragedy in 2013\, the Greater Boston Chapter of the Ahmadiyya Muslim Community USA introduced a special blood drive to honor those affected by the tragedy. Since then\, we have continued to hold this blood drive every year at Boston City Hall. You can watch Tom Grilk’s\, comments of the former CEO of Boston Athletic Association\, here: Tom Grilk’s remarks. \nAs part of this nationwide effort\, the Greater Boston chapter has held multiple blood drives in partnership with the Massachusetts State House\, City of Boston\, American Red Cross\, Boston Children Hospital Blood Donor Center\, Kraft Family Blood Donor Center at MGH\, Dana-Farber Cancer Institute and Brigham and Women’s Hospital\, Boston Athletics Association (B.A.A.) as well as Sharon and Canton Police. The Community has received great support from the Governor’s office\, Boston Mayor’s office\, State Representatives\, and State Senators.
